research on to different photographers;
Walker evens;
Born November 3rd 1903 in St. Louis america and died April 10 1975
he studdyed at the University of Wisconsin but in his spair time he liked to do drawings but then he used a 10x8 camera where his photographs of building use shaddos lines and light very well and also shot from different angles than you might think of photographing your self.
Paul Strand;
Paul strand was born in new york and it was a student of renowned documentary photographer Lewis Hine at the Ethical Culture Fieldston School where on a feald trip the visited a gallery called 219 art gallery Edward Steichen was exhibiting his work after this paul started to take his work more serus and went on to produce work like the wall street photo;
Branislav Kropilak;
Born in Slovakia, Branislav spent most of his childhood in Belgium, travelling a lot with his parents
from an early age. He graduated at the Private Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava and then spent
some years working for the top creative agencies in Prague.
The main theme of his work is investigating the intimate relationship between humans and technology.
He is inspired by industrial design, architecture and urbanism. The utopian bent of his work with its
appreciation of geometry and perspective already earned him a solid base of collectors.
then in out lectures we went on some feald trips:
trip one :
we went to crosby bay and morccome where the wether wasn't the best all rain and dark clouds every where but i still managed to get some good photographs to put towards this brefe (The tide comes in fast in morcome as well) below are 3 photos that i have picket out to put towards my fine ones to be printed for my 12 images
after we came back from morcome i were disappointed in that i had taken if i were to go back i would get more involved in the boats and split off from the group because every ones images are more the same so i took the negatives from this and put them in to our next trip to Formby beach
week two :
this week we were going to liverpool and forby beach in the lecture before we looked at photographers like Lewis Baltz, Robert Adams, Stephen Shore, The Bechers. when we got to liverpool we went to the docks where all the irish people came through the gates and where the tabbaco factory was but now derelict when we got here i split of from the group and went and go my own photographs that went the same as every one and looking at them on my camera i were pleased with some of the ones i got then we went to fobmy beach where again i got of the beaten track and went in the the sand dunes where i got some shots i were very happy with and below are 5 images of some that I'm putting towards my finale pictures.
if i were to go back again i would like to shoot it on 120 bw film because the way i have edited the images they could easy be shot on film and i think it will look better all together on film but i am very happy with the results.
Week 3:
this week we stayed in and went in the studio and did light mater where we set up a camera looking out over blackburn then we did two different types of light meters the first light meatier we used was a
the type of light meatier above is a sekonic and is very simple to use as you see on the front iso to set your iso to your camera and at the side to press up and down for your F-stop then the wight blob on the top means you get an equal amount of light being read to use it you set it up and get close up to your subject and point the blob at the centre of your camera then set your camera to what it says and your away.
spot meaterin as in the image above with the red dot means thats where its raking the reading from rather than the surrounding light this is used to get the best lighting for your subject why as the fox is nice exposed and the hole body and the back ground is darker and the part of the body of the fox thats in shade is light why if you used the other meatier it could be dark or black all together.
we then got told our next trip out is to the bowland but were going to all photograph it on film ether 120 or 35mm black and wight so i chose to use my Nikon FE 35mm camera and got 4 films 2 ilford iso 400 black and wight and a 200iso film.
week 4:
bowland we arrived at bowland but the wether was wet and foggy but some of the land scapes on the way there looked gloomy in a good way with the clouds roiling over the hills when we arrived i went in the opposite direction to every one els so i wouldn't get the same photos i liked the images i produced when i got back and developer the in the dark room as some of the ones i have choose below to put towards my finale ones to be picket.
week 5: this week i am going to new york i am going to use my photos for the alien part of my work because i never been there so its all new. before i went i looked up a cupple of photographers like:
Andres kertesz who produced images like:
Walker Evans:
New york:
i am going to use new york as the alien part of my brief and when we got there there was thousands of photo on the 2nd day we went to conny island witch is like blackpool but american but it was really quiet because its not in the summer season and every thing was shut and the wether was really foggy but walking round it felt like the 90's like it hasent moved on by the look of the rides and advertisement but i man edge to get some good photos and then we went to ground zero where the twin towers were witch there was plenty of photographing opertuntys but i wanted to get not what loads of people had already got and i got kenny photos from all over new york as below.
